Hey everyone, I recently read about the tragic murder of Derrick Thomas in Philadelphia back in 2013, and it's so deeply unsettling. We can't forget how much gun violence has affected individual lives and entire communities. My heart truly goes out to Derrick's family and loved ones who have been left to cope with his untimely death. One aspect that really stood out to me is how prevalent these late-night incidents are. It seems like this is a recurring theme with tragedies like Derrick's, which happened in the early hours on West Luzerne Street. It's almost like a pattern, and it makes me wonder about the environmental factors that contribute to such violence in certain neighborhoods. Do any of you have insights or thoughts on what might be causing this tragic pattern, especially in areas like Hunting Park? I know Philly has been struggling with gun violence for a while, and it’s heartbreaking to think there are still so many unsolved cases like Derrick’s. We can only hope that one day those responsible will be brought to justice. Stay safe out there, everyone. Hug your loved ones extra tight tonight. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. - Jesse
