Hey everyone, I’ve been reading about the tragic situation surrounding Jeffrey Brown’s murder back in 2014, and my heart goes out to his family. It's so frustrating to see how his case, like many others, got caught up in the chaotic environment of that year. I was thinking about how the leadership issues within the Pittsburgh police at that time might have had a big impact on their capability to solve homicides. When you've got turnover and maybe even some morale issues, how can officers do their best work? It sounds like they didn’t have the support or resources they needed to process these cases effectively. Moreover, with the community not trusting the police, it seems like a vicious cycle where no one wins—least of all the families waiting for answers. I really hope more can be done to build up community trust and provide the police with what they need to do their jobs properly. It’s just tough thinking about how many families are out there still hoping for closure. I’d love to hear any thoughts or insights you all might have on how leadership affects police work or ideas on improving community trust. Thanks for reading and keeping this discussion alive.
