Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Dawaud Simmons's case and there's one aspect that's really been weighing on me. I can’t help but think about the silence surrounding his murder. I mean, it happened at 2:25 a.m. in an alley, yet surely someone heard or saw something, right? It’s so sad that this lack of forward movement is preventing his family from finding any kind of peace.
What's really frustrating is how crucial community involvement is in cases like these. It's tough to understand why people would hold back information that could bring justice for Dawaud. I wonder if there's fear of retaliation or a mindset that it’s not their problem. How do we bridge that gap and encourage those who might have even the smallest detail to come forward?
I truly hope that somehow, someday soon, someone finds the courage to step up. Dawaud and his loved ones deserve answers, and it’s heartbreaking that they’ve been denied that for so long. If anyone has ideas on how to better engage the community in cases like this, I’d love to hear them.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussion on Dawaud Simmons' case, and something that's been gnawing at me is the location where he was found. The alleyway on the 3700 block of North Park Avenue isn’t too far from where I used to live, and it's honestly troubling to think that no one seems to have seen or heard anything at such an hour.
I get that it was early in the morning, but the city isn’t exactly quiet, even in the dead of night. Someone must have been around, maybe a night worker or even someone leaving a friend's house. I really hope that people who were nearby come forward if they saw anything unusual. It’s up to the community now. We owe it to Dawaud and his loved ones to not let this slip into the cold case files. Sending strength to his family and friends—they deserve answers.
Has anyone else from the area noticed anything off around that time or have thoughts on why this might still be such a tough case to crack?
