I've been digging into Jimmy Dean Johnson's case for a while and wanted to share something that's been on my mind. St. Joseph, where his truck was found, is a small town with not much going on, which makes me wonder if someone local might have seen or known something when it happened. It's odd that the truck was both abandoned and burned - that feels like someone trying to erase evidence. However, there haven't been any reports of suspicious activities or sightings around that time in St. Joseph. Does anyone know if the police ever pursued this angle or if locals were questioned extensively? Any info on small-town happenings around that period might be helpful. Keeping the hope alive that someone, somewhere, knows something.
Has anyone considered the potential forensic evidence that might have been missed with Jimmy's truck? I read that it was found burned in St. Joseph, but it's always puzzled me how much evidence might have survived the fire if processed correctly or more thoroughly. Even the smallest fibers or pieces of metal could have indicated what happened or who was responsible. It's frustrating to think about what might have been overlooked back in 1998, considering how forensic technology has advanced since then. I wonder if there's any possibility or precedent for re-examining such old evidence with modern tools. Anyone know of similar cases where this has been done successfully?
