Hey everyone, I've been diving into Barbara Kay Jolly's case lately, and something that struck me was the era in which she disappeared. It's tough to imagine investigating a case with 1970s tech and resources. Witnesses back then weren't as easily trackable without today's tech, and I'd imagine records weren't kept as meticulously either. The passage of time only adds to the difficulty, as people move, memories fade, and potential leads get lost. It's a daunting task for investigators. It's also been decades, which raises questions about how the police prioritize such cases. Does anyone know if Seattle PD has a dedicated cold case unit actively working on cases like Barbara's? How do they decide which cases to revisit with new technology? It's a stark reminder of how the progress we've made in the digital age wasn't there to help solve her case and so many others back then. Would love to hear thoughts or if anyone has stumbled upon more info during their own research.
