Has anyone thought about the possibility that Lisa might have changed her identity or gone off the grid by choice? I get that things were different back in 1979, but it's always struck me as odd that she never picked up the plane ticket her boyfriend sent her. Traveling to Lodi and then not making the flight back to Big Spring seems like a big jump to go missing intentionally. I'm also curious about the story of her possibly working as a waitress in Amarillo. It's unconfirmed, but it makes me question whether she ended up there for whatever reason and stayed under the radar. I can’t help but wonder if there's more to her leaving Texas initially. Also, wouldn't those metal screws in her left hand have left some kind of record if she visited a hospital or clinic? Seems like that would be crucial. Anyone here know more about medical record keeping from that era? Could really use some insight on that front.

Hey everyone, I’ve been digging into the Lisa Jane Borden case, and something that caught my attention is the unconfirmed report about her possibly working as a waitress in Amarillo, Texas. I know it was never verified, but does anyone have any thoughts on why this lead seems to have gone cold? Could there have been any establishments in Amarillo at the time that didn’t keep thorough employee records? Or maybe it’s that hitchhiking connection people keep mentioning – she might have been moving around a lot and took up temporary jobs. If she was in a transient situation, how do you think that impacts keeping a solid trail? Any locals here from Amarillo during the late '70s with insights on the diner scene? Wondering what more can be done to either confirm or debunk this angle. Always hoping for new developments. Curious to hear your thoughts!

I came across the Lisa Jane Borden case while digging through some old missing person files, and something just doesn't sit right with me about the Amarillo waitress lead. I know it's unverified, but has anyone dug deeper into this? Amarillo is quite a distance from where she was last reported in Lodi, yet it's a direction she might have gone trying to return to Texas. It makes me wonder if there's more to that report than we know. Perhaps she met someone on the road who had connections that led her there? I know it's a long shot, but sometimes these small threads can unravel into something bigger. I'm curious if any locals in Amarillo remember anything from that time or if similar missing persons cases popped up around then. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone who's followed this case or has insight into the Amarillo area during the late '70s.
