Has anyone else noticed how strange the timeline is for David Sargent’s disappearance? ? According to his friends, they only realized he was missing hours after he supposedly went for a walk. I find it odd that no one thought to check on him sooner, especially during a camping trip where everyone tends to stick together. Did anyone ever dig deeper into the friends' stories or their actions that morning? It's been over two decades, and there doesn't seem to be much clarity. Just wondering if there’s more to it or if anyone has any theories about why that delay happened.
It's been so long, but I still think about David Sargent's case now and then. I stumbled upon a thread recently and felt compelled to chime in. One detail that really stands out to me is how David went for that walk at such a strange time. I mean, early morning hours—I wonder if he had a habit of doing this? Maybe someone from his circle or a local from Guntersville can shed some light on whether this was typical for him. It seems so odd to just head out alone on foot without telling anyone.
Also, given the proximity to the Tennessee River, my mind keeps drifting to the possibility of maybe an accidental fall or something along those lines. But then again, lack of any evidence makes it super puzzling. I remember reading that there weren’t any personal items found at all, which makes me question whether something unexpected spooked him or if he encountered someone along his walk. It's definitely a headscratcher...wondering if anyone has more insight into those last known movements.
Just came across the case of David Sargent, and I’m curious about the location where he disappeared. Was anyone familiar with the Tennessee River area back in '99? Specifically, the part near Guntersville? I’m wondering if there were any notable geographical features or hazards around the campsite that might have made it difficult for search parties to find him. I know riverbanks can be tricky, but were there any caves, cliffs, or dense woods that could have concealed someone? It’s baffling how someone could just vanish without a trace in an area that was thoroughly searched. Would love to hear from locals or anyone who might have camped there around that time.
