Has anyone else looked into Smrekar's timeline in detail during the holiday season of 1975? I find it odd that Michael vanished just a few days before he was supposed to testify against Russell. It's curious how Smrekar managed to avoid scrutiny despite being a prime suspect at the time. Given Smrekar's later confessions and his established history of violence, you'd think there would have been more immediate pressure on him from law enforcement right after Michael disappeared. Maybe there was more going on behind the scenes. It's so frustrating that a promising young life was cut short, and here we are almost 50 years later with so many unanswered questions and no physical evidence. Just a reminder of how justice can be elusive.

Hey everyone, I'm digging deeper into the connections between Michael Mansfield's disappearance and his testimony against Russell Smrekar. With Mansfield set to testify in criminal court just days after he vanished, the timing seems more than coincidental. Has anyone come across any detailed accounts or documents from the college judicial board proceedings where Mansfield testified? I feel like understanding what exactly went down during those hearings might shed some light on Smrekar's motives beyond what's commonly reported. It's frustrating that such a key piece of the puzzle, namely the exact nature of the testimony, doesn't seem to be widely available. If anyone has any insights or resources, please share. This case has lingered unresolved for too long, and every bit of information could potentially help piece together what really happened to Michael.
