Hey everyone, I was revisiting the Irene Silverman case, and something that's always puzzled me is the Kimeses' motive. We know they were after her townhouse and used fake identities for their schemes, but I find it interesting how they thought they could actually get away with it. I mean, Silverman was well-connected in Manhattan's social scene, and it seems like such a high-risk target. Manhattan social circles and the real estate world are tight-knit, making me wonder why they thought nobody would notice Irene missing or that the forged documents would stand up to scrutiny. Maybe they got too confident after past successes? Would love to hear what you all think about why they targeted her specifically—or were they just reckless at this point?
