Hey everyone, I’ve been following the details on the case of the individual who went missing in Everglades National Park. There's something I've been wondering about, and maybe someone here might have insights. Since the vehicle was found parked at Whitewater Bay Back Country boat ramp and the canoe was discovered near Bear Lake Road and the Buttonwood Canal, could there have been a plan for a longer backcountry trip, or is it possible he was just exploring nearby waterways? Given the proximity of these areas, it seems like a tight circle, but the park is so vast and wild. And if he did intend to return, wouldn’t he have prepped for a day trip rather than something extended? I’m curious about how common it is for solo travelers to go on canoe trips like this in the park, especially with the potential dangers out there. Anyone with local knowledge or who’s visited have thoughts?
