Hey everyone,
I've been mulling over the disappearance of Curtiss and something struck me: November 1969 in Tucson. Does anyone else find it odd it took Brian McNamara a whole week to emerge from the mountains after they got lost? Even with the bad weather, stumbling out of Upper Sabino Canyon a full week later seems a bit off to me. I mean, how did he manage without food and proper shelter? And then there's the inconsistency about the weather — was there definitely a sudden winter storm at that exact time or could something else have been at play?
Anyone around the area back then or have information about the weather patterns? It just feels like there's more to this timeframe that might give clues. Let's get some more eyes on this aspect!
Has anyone looked into the weather reports from that time? I find it curious that a sudden winter storm caught McNamara and Curtiss off guard. I'm not from Arizona, but don't people usually check the weather before heading into the mountains, especially in November? I'm just wondering if there were any warnings or indications of bad weather that day. Also, how common are winter storms in that area during that time of year? Trying to piece together if the weather truly played a significant role in this tragedy.
Has anyone looked into the weather patterns around Mount Lemmon on November 8, 1969? I've been trying to piece together whether it’s plausible that a sudden storm could have caught Curtiss and Brian by surprise. It seems like a crucial detail that could either corroborate or put into question part of McNamara's account. Given that Curtiss was last seen near Tucson, known for its desert climate, it's curious how drastically the conditions might have shifted on the mountain. Does anyone have access to historical weather records or insights? It just seems odd to me how unprepared they were for harsh weather, especially if they were locals and possibly familiar with the area. Any thoughts or info others might have dug up on this front?
