Just came across Kristin Gurholt's case, and I'm struck by the inexplicable loss her family must feel, especially her son, who was only 12 when she passed. It's hard to imagine how her death has shadowed his life over the decades. One aspect that really stands out to me is the location where she was found—an alley in Downtown Eastside, a place known for its transient population. Often these areas complicate investigations due to the lack of continuity with witnesses or potential leads. The police were clearly doing their best with the resources they had, especially by offering a reward and following any lead, even posting it on their cold case website decades later. I can't help but wonder about the man seen with her before her death. What was their interaction? Did he carry information crucial to solving this crime? It's sad how such a vibrant life, a woman with a master's degree and a deep love for music, was subjected to such violence. I hope the renewed efforts might bring some answers, not just for her family's sake, but as a legacy to a woman who deserved so much better. If anyone has thoughts or theories, I'd love to hear them. Maybe together, we can contribute in some small way to getting the justice Kristin deserves.
