I’ve been reading about the tragic events of July 13-14, 1966, and I keep thinking about the incredible bravery of Corazon Amurao. She managed to stay hidden and alert under the most terrifying circumstances. Her ability to recount what happened and provide a detailed description of Richard Speck was pivotal in capturing him. It's remarkable how in the face of such terror, she retained enough presence of mind to later identify the tattoo and help secure a conviction. My heart goes out to her and the families of all the victims whose lives were so tragically altered by this senseless act of violence. Her courage is something that should be remembered as much as the tragedy itself. Anyone else read about how her testimony was critical in bringing justice, and feel just amazed by her strength?
