I was reading about Maureen Webb's disappearance, and what really gets me is the fact her van was found abandoned at Battlefield Mall with her purse still inside. It feels like such an eerie and intentional move. Why would she leave her purse behind if she was planning to head somewhere from the mall? It seems like such a crucial piece of evidence that screams something happened in that vicinity or shortly after she parked the van there. I'm curious whether anyone knows if that angle was thoroughly investigated. Did they check surveillance footage from that time or interview mall employees and regulars who might have seen or heard something unusual? It’s small details like this that might lead to new insights in the case. What do you guys think?
Has anyone else noticed the inconsistencies regarding the BF, John David Smith, that we still don’t have clear info on? It's like he vanished into thin air just before Maureen. The fact that they both disappeared almost simultaneously and that we've heard so little about John makes me wonder if there might be more to his background or their relationship than we've been told.
The Evans' charges seemed pretty serious, and the way the witness backed out so suddenly is odd. Especially given the gruesome details from their supposed statements. But John's involvement still feels like a huge missing piece in this puzzle. Has anyone here ever come across more info or insight into what was going on with him just before he went missing?
