I can’t seem to get Makayla’s smile out of my head. I didn’t know her personally, but from everything I’ve read, she was a truly radiant soul. I came across a post about her involvement in a local charity, and it’s heartbreaking to think that someone who gave so much to others had her life taken so violently. I find myself wondering about the bystanders in situations like these. How many signs were possibly missed, or maybe seen but misunderstood? It’s such a tough topic, but understanding those signals might be a key to preventing future tragedies. Do any of you have experiences or insights about recognizing warning signs in domestic situations? It’s something that seems so crucial to talk about, especially when we hear about cases like Makayla’s. Sending thoughts and strength to her family and the entire Verona community.
