I've been reading about the tragic incident involving Jerry Hightower, and it just keeps haunting me. It's so hard to comprehend how something so petty could escalate to such a devastating loss. I can't imagine what Jerry's loved ones are going through right now. He was just trying to get his work done, and the next thing we know, his life is taken over a beam of light. I've been thinking about those who witnessed this entire ordeal. It must have been so unnerving to watch such an altercation unravel in front of them, knowing that one argument moved so quickly from words to irreversible actions. I hope they’re getting the support they need, too. Such events leave wounds on a community that take a long time to heal. It's just so senseless and unfair to everyone involved. How do we address such avoidable situations? ?
