Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about Jay Nieves’ case lately. It's so frustrating and sad to think about how many young lives were cut short during that spike in violence in Buffalo back in 2011. Jay was only 21. I've read that the police and investigators have used different kinds of forensic technology on cases like his, but it’s baffling how some, like his, remain unsolved.
I can’t imagine what his family is going through, not having closure even after all this time. It makes me wonder—do advances in forensic science give us more hope, or is it a grim reminder of how elusive justice can be? For those familiar with the area or similar cases, what do you think might help these investigations? How can communities support the push for solving cold cases like Jay’s? Love to hear your thoughts.
Has anyone here been following the 2011 case of Jay Nieves in Buffalo? It’s so frustrating that we're now over a decade later, and his murder still hasn't been solved. I know investigators have been trying to use new forensic techniques to open up these cold cases in Buffalo. But what's troubling me is the lack of witnesses coming forward—especially since I’ve read that there were people around when it happened. What can be done to encourage more community members to speak up? It feels like Jay and his family deserve answers, and it’s so difficult to think of them not having closure after all these years. It’s such a heavy burden for the community, and I hope one day justice will be served for Jay and many others whose cases remain unsolved.
