I wanted to talk about the area where Christopher Kelley was tragically killed. I've heard that the game room on Botham Jean Boulevard is one of those spots where people in the Bonton area, including my uncle who lives nearby, have always gathered pretty regularly. It's heartbreaking not only how Christopher's life was cut short, but also how a neighborhood space that's supposed to feel safe became the scene of such a traumatic event. It just makes me wonder about the impact this whole incident is having on the community. I've been reading how the community is rallying to honor Kelley's memory and trying to heal, which seems more important than ever given the spike in violence across Dallas. It's necessary that everyone who has any information comes forward. Neighborhoods should be hubs of connection, not of fear, and it’s disheartening to see their peace disrupted so senselessly. I sincerely hope there's justice for Christopher and those affected by all the violence in Dallas that day.
