I’ve been thinking a lot about how tragic it is that Jose Alberto Duran Jr.’s life was cut short while trying to protect others. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain his family and friends must be feeling right now. It’s just unfathomable that a community's peace could be shattered in such an unimaginable way. I’m curious about what might have led Lucas Aron Gartrell to act so violently. It seems like such a drastic situation could have been a result of untreated mental health issues or perhaps a buildup of personal struggles. I wonder if there were any signs that went unnoticed or if anything could have been done to intervene before it escalated to this point. Ultimately, this is a time for the community to rally around one another and offer support to those affected by the tragedy. My thoughts are with Duran's family and the entire community as they navigate the aftermath of this devastating event.
