There's something truly haunting about how quickly life can change, forever altering the lives of everyone involved. While I've read a lot about Craig Anderson and the tragic events of July 7, it’s the community response that's been on my mind today. Delaware City is a small community, and many residents knew Craig or at least had seen him around. I can only imagine the shock and sadness that must be felt by his neighbors and friends. Those who live in such close-knit areas often rally together during times of tragedy, offering support to the grieving family and attempting to make sense of something so senseless. It's also significant to consider the bystanders and witnesses who were present during the shooting. Their lives have likely been changed in ways we can't fully appreciate. Eye-witnessing violence is a traumatic experience, and my thoughts go out to them as well. The local response underscores the necessity of community and the strength that can emerge in dark times. If any good can come from such a tragic event, it's the reminder of the importance of coming together to support one another, and the reevaluation of personal and community safety. Remember to hold those dear to you even closer today. My heart goes out to Craig's family and everyone in Delaware City affected by this tragedy.
