Does anyone else find it chilling how Edward Krause managed to carry on his crimes for so long without any immediate family or friends raising alarms? It really makes me think about the vulnerable situations people like Kumajiro Yamamoto found themselves in during those times. The fact that Krause targeted individuals who were socially isolated is just a stark reminder of how devious criminals can exploit those circumstances. My heart goes out to Yamamoto's family, who must have faced tremendous uncertainty and grief. It's unsettling to think about how many more there might have been that we will never know about. Let's hope those affected find some semblance of peace knowing that Krause was eventually stopped. Does anyone know if there were any initiatives at that time to support people who might have been traveling or living far from their families?
