I can't stop thinking about the broader impact of Franklin's spree and how it affected communities across multiple states. It's chilling to consider how he was able to evade capture for so long despite the trail of devastation he left behind. I wonder about the investigation techniques at the time and how different jurisdictions may have communicated—or failed to communicate—about these cases. This was back in the late '60s, well before we had the kind of interagency databases we use now. You have to feel for the families and local law enforcement who were probably doing the best they could with the resources available to them. Does anyone have insights or resources about how cross-state serial cases were handled back then? It's hard not to think about what might have been different if the technology we have today existed back then to bring these kinds of monsters to justice faster. My heart goes out to the Gregoroff family and all those affected by his actions.
