I've been following the case of Officer Frank Glasgow, and one angle that's been tugging at me is how the community of Hillsboro dealt with such a loss back in 1911. It's hard to imagine the fear and confusion that must have spread through the town after such a trusted officer was gunned down in cold blood, especially considering how respected and dedicated he was to serving those around him. I feel for his family and colleagues who had to grapple with such a sudden and senseless tragedy. The fact that the doctor was so influential in instigating James Fox to commit this crime is shocking. It’s a reminder of how powerful and devastating words and manipulation can be. Even as time marches on, I hope Hillsboro continues to honor Officer Glasgow and keep his legacy of service alive. He clearly deserved so much better.

I’ve been reading more about Officer Frank Glasgow's case, and something that really struck me was the role of the local doctor in all of this. It’s so unsettling to think that someone supposedly committed to healing and helping could harbor such malice. I can’t imagine the level of betrayal felt by the community—and especially by Officer Glasgow’s family—when they found out that a trusted physician was behind the instigation of such a terrible crime. It makes you wonder how someone like that could manipulate others to do their bidding, leading to such a tragic outcome. My heart goes out to those who were close to Officer Glasgow; dealing with such a convoluted mess of lies and violence must have been incredibly painful for them. Does anyone have more information on the legal process or why the doctor's life sentence was eventually overturned? It's baffling.
