Does anyone know if there have been any updates on the search for Kianna and Gunnar Berg? I came across this case recently, and it's been on my mind. It's so tough to grasp how long they’ve been missing. Since Naoko has ties to both Japan and the U.S., I wonder if there might be family or friends shielding them over there. Given the language skills both kids had, they might blend in easily in certain communities. I hope somehow they're aware that people are looking for them and haven't given up hope. Has there been any recent info or sightings reported in Japan?

I was recently reading about the Kianna Berg case and something struck me: how intricately this situation underscores the complexities international parental abduction can cause. Naoko's choice to take Kianna and Gunnar to Japan, a place where she likely feels more secure and connected, must complicate efforts to locate them significantly. Japan has its own laws about these situations, and I imagine navigating this legally could be very tricky for U.S. authorities and Kianna's father. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience about how these cases get resolved when international borders are involved? Also, any chance someone has insight on whether Japan has made any progress with agreements on handling international child abduction cases? It's been ages, yet it feels like this whole thing is hitting all kinds of dead ends. Any thoughts or similar cases, anyone?
