I’ve been reflecting a lot on LaVera’s case, and one detail that really stands out to me is the bravery she showed during her final moments. Making that call to 911, knowing the danger she was in, speaks volumes about her strength and will to survive. It’s truly tragic that she didn’t get the chance to be rescued. I can only imagine how terrifying that situation must have been for her. It's just so upsetting to think that, despite her reaching out for help, things ended the way they did. This entire situation highlights how critical it is for authorities to have effective protocols in place for domestic violence calls. My heart goes out to her family and friends who lost such a wonderful person and are left with so many painful questions. It's important that we keep talking about cases like LaVera's to push for better responses to domestic violence.
