I’ve been thinking a lot about the brave officers from the Killeen Police Department who responded to the call at Steven Guiles’ home that tragic day. It must have been a truly difficult scene for them to walk into. We often don't acknowledge the emotional toll these cases take on our first responders. They're the ones who have to piece together chaotic and violent moments while also comforting the distraught loved ones of victims. My heart goes out to Steven’s family and friends during this time, but I also want to commend the officers who acted so swiftly. Handling a case with such intensity requires strong will and composure, and their actions helped make an arrest and put the suspect, "Scooby," behind bars. Let's hope justice can bring some comfort to everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.
