I've been following Quinton Aaron Lavelle Ford's case and like many, I find it deeply unsettling. Something that's been nagging at me is the location of where this all went down. Why did it have to be at Harker Heights High School, of all places? It's supposed to be a safe space for learning and growth, not somewhere for such violence to erupt. I can't even begin to fathom how students and staff who return to that environment every day are coping with this tragedy hanging over them. From what I've gathered, this meeting allegedly began as an illegal gun sale. How such disturbing activity made its way to a school property in the first place is beyond me. It breaks you down wondering if anything could have been done to prevent this from taking place there. My heart genuinely goes out to Que’s family and friends, and even the students and teachers who now have this memory attached to their school. School should be the last place for these violent confrontations. I'm so hopeful that this investigation continues to shed light on all these concerns and bring some peace to everyone affected.
