Does anyone else find it chilling how things can appear normal on the outside but be so different behind closed doors? I used to see Rita Buchanan at our local grocery store, and she always seemed like such a doting mom. She was one of those people who'd stop and chat with everyone, even if it was just about the weather or the kids' recent school project. It's incredibly sad that she and her girls are no longer with us. This tragedy makes me think about the importance of checking in on each other and how we often miss the signs of someone struggling. In hindsight, I wonder if there were red flags that weren’t obvious to those of us on the outside. It’s a stark reminder that mental health can be an invisible burden, and maybe we all need to be a bit more attuned to those around us. My heart goes out to anyone who knew the family; I can't even begin to imagine the pain this has caused.
