Just saw an update on the Edgardo Luis Perez case and it got me thinking about how difficult it must be for investigators to track someone who might be moving between countries. Considering that he might be using aliases, it must be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Does anyone know what kind of support or resources get utilized by law enforcement in these cross-border investigations? Are there international task forces involved, or does it fall mainly on local agencies? Balancing international cooperation must be such a challenging task. Similarly, I'm curious about any long-term strategies employed for cases like these to keep them active and in the public eye. Any insights?
What's always struck me about the Edgardo Luis Perez case is the difficulty in tracking someone who potentially had a plan from the start. If Perez managed to escape to places like Mexico, Puerto Rico, or Spain, it makes me wonder if he had connections or resources lined up beforehand. Evading capture this long isn’t easy, especially for someone who was only 19 at the time. I keep thinking whether his background, friends, or family had some influence, or if he acted alone. It’s also baffling how quickly he seemed to disappear without a trace. The use of aliases could be key here, but wouldn’t you think there’d be a slip-up by now? It's frustrating and puzzling! Thoughts on how someone so young could've orchestrated such a long-term evasion?
