I've been thinking a lot about Lisa's son recently. Being in the house when something so unimaginable happened must have been incredibly traumatic for him. I can't even begin to fathom the emotional toll this has taken on him. Growing up knowing all the love his mother had for him, it's hard to imagine how he's coping without her now. I know the community has really come together to support him and the rest of the family, but it's such a difficult path of healing ahead. If anyone has been involved in similar community support initiatives, I’d love to hear your thoughts on ways we can continue to provide support long term for Lisa’s family. It's important they know they aren't alone in this.
I can't stop thinking about the poor son who was in the house when everything happened. Imagine the trauma and confusion he must have experienced. Being that close to such a tragedy, and at the hands of someone you probably trusted... it's just unimaginable. I hope he's receiving all the love and support he needs during this time. It's really tough to process how someone you love could be involved in something so horrendous. We often hear about the crime and the perpetrator, but the children and family members are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered world. If anyone knows of resources or ways to support him and the family, it would be great to share them here. Sometimes, communities just don't know where to start in helping affected families.
