I’ve been digging into the Lock Haven spree from 1967, and one thing that struck me about Donald Walden's tragic death was how the sequence of events unfolded at Hammermill Paper. Walden, along with Carmen Edwards and others, didn't stand a chance against such brutal and senseless violence. My heart goes out to the families who bore witness to such horror. I’m particularly curious about reports of how the company and the community handled the aftermath. It's always tough to understand the ripple effects of such violence on workplaces and close-knit towns. Those left behind must have dealt with incredible trauma and fear, not to mention all the questions they must still have—seems like they were left with very little closure. Does anyone know how the community healed or coped in the years that followed?
