I was reading about the murder of this wonderful shopkeeper, Dennis "Danny" Mellis, and something about the timeline struck me. It seems heartbreaking that he was attacked doing something so routine—just opening his shop in the morning. The fact that he parked across the street every day sounds like it could have been a pattern someone noticed and took advantage of. It’s upsetting to think about how quickly this could have happened in a busy area with no witnesses coming forward. I'm curious if any surveillance from nearby businesses was overlooked, even though it was the early ’90s, so maybe there wasn't much available. I really hope there’s some clue out there that was missed and could eventually bring peace to his family and the community.
