I’m struck by how Jennifer’s love for her pets described the kind of person she was. Anyone who takes daily walks with their dog and cares for a cat has a special place in their heart for those who depend on them. It breaks my heart to think about Cody and Callie after losing Jennifer. Pets often become like family, providing comfort and companionship, especially after the passing of a loved one, like Jennifer's husband. I hope they're being taken care of and that they’ve found some solace with new people who cherish them. It's little details like these, about the ones left behind, that remind us of our shared humanity and the ripples that follow such violent acts.
