I'm still unsettled by the details that have emerged about the Weis Market shooting. The whole situation is beyond tragic and hearing about how it all unfolded is incredibly jarring. I can’t stop thinking about Brian Hayes and what he must've gone through on that terrible night. Being a night stocker probably felt like a routine part of life, and to have something so horrific happen while simply doing your job is just devastating. He was just there, working like any other shift, and it's just gut-wrenching. The fact that this was all premeditated by someone they worked with makes it even harder to process. It's scary to think that they were all stuck with no way out once the exits were blocked. Knowing that someone has those intentions and carries them out is terrifying. It highlights just how vulnerable we are in our daily routines, and how much we need to be aware of the mental health struggles that might go unnoticed. I hope Brian’s family has been able to find some peace amidst the pain and that the support from their community has offered them some comfort. Stories like these remind us to cherish our loved ones and always be attentive to the well-being of those around us.

I can't stop thinking about the night shift at Weis Market and how different it feels now without Brian Hayes. I didn’t know him personally, but I’ve seen so many people speak to his kindness and dedication. It’s incredibly saddening to imagine the sense of trust and security shattered for his co-workers and anyone who knew him. It's haunting to realize how something so devastating could happen in a place where people spent so much of their time working together. Seeing all the discussions about workplace safety is so necessary, but it’s sobering when it comes in response to such a loss. I hope we can honor Brian’s memory by continuing to push for real changes in understanding and supporting mental health challenges in every workplace. My heart goes out to everyone who’s grieving in the wake of this tragedy.
