Hi all, I've been thinking a lot about the role that community members can play in cracking cold cases in Detroit. Edward Dawson's murder in 2010 is such a heavy reminder of how many lives remain affected by these unresolved tragedies. While law enforcement struggles with limited resources and old evidence, perhaps it's time for grassroots efforts to step up. What if local groups organized periodic community forums or meetings where residents could anonymously share anything they might know about unsolved cases? Maybe even collaborate with local artists or activists to keep these victims in the public's mind through murals, events, or social media campaigns. Sometimes people are willing to speak up when they don't feel pressured or fearful. We might never know if someone out there noticed something on that night in May 2010 that seemed minor at the time but could be crucial now. Lastly, I can't help but think of Edward's family and friends, living every day without answers. No one should have to endure that. Let’s keep discussing ways we can help bring justice not just for Edward, but for all the families still waiting for the peace they deserve. Take care, everyone.
