It's been over a decade, and it deeply saddens me to think about how many families in Detroit, like Gilbert Culberson’s, are left in limbo, waiting for answers. The numbers are staggering—so many unsolved cases, each tied to a family desperate for closure. What’s especially frustrating is hearing how the lack of witness cooperation hinders progress. It makes you wonder what’s preventing people from coming forward. Fear? Distrust? It’s understandable in some ways, considering the climate of fear that high crime areas often foster, but it’s disheartening nonetheless. It's reassuring that the Cold Case Unit is still pushing forward, utilizing new forensic technologies and public appeals. Maybe this will finally spark someone’s memory, or give someone the courage to speak up. It’s a small glimmer of hope, but I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be for Gilbert’s family. I hope one day they receive the peace they deserve.

I just want to say how deeply sorry I am for Gilbert Culberson's family and friends. Losing someone you love is tough enough, but when it happens in such a brutal and senseless manner, the pain is unimaginable. I’ve been following a lot of these unsolved cases in Detroit, and it’s incredibly frustrating to see so many families still waiting for answers. Does anyone know if there's been any new leads, or if the Cold Case Unit has been able to apply some of these newer forensic techniques to Gilbert's case? With all the advancements in technology, I truly hope they can find something that can give his family some measure of peace. It's disheartening to know that there are so many hurdles in solving these cases, from lack of evidence to uncooperative witnesses. I urge anyone who might have even a small piece of information to come forward. Every bit counts. These families deserve answers, and Gilbert deserves justice. Let’s not let his name be forgotten amid the statistics.
