Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Michael Hunley's case for a while, and as a Detroiter, it’s been on my mind quite a bit. Something that strikes me every time I think about it is the level of collaboration it takes to even get close to solving these cases. From what I read, the Detroit Police Department’s Cold Case Unit teams up with agencies like the FBI and Michigan State Police. That’s huge, right?
I can’t imagine how overwhelming it must be, dealing with lack of evidence and trying to get people to talk when they’re scared or worn down by the system. But knowing that there are folks who haven’t given up, still pushing forward with everything from re-interviewing witnesses to using cutting-edge forensic tech, brings a little hope to this grim picture.
I also wanted to send some love to Michael’s family. The strength they must have to keep all this alive and fight for justice really speaks volumes. It’s stories like these that highlight the importance of community and what we can do together, especially when it comes to bringing closure to families who’ve been hurting for way too long.
Would love to hear any thoughts you guys have—let's hope the persistence pays off one day soon.
