Hi everyone, I've been following the Darrian Crutcher case and I can't stop thinking about how it reflects broader issues within Detroit's justice system. It's like, how many families have to endure years of not knowing what happened to their loved ones? From what I've gathered, nearly two-thirds of murders since 1980 haven't been solved, which is just staggering. I find myself wondering about the tireless work of the Cold Case Unit and whether they have enough resources to make a real impact. The advancements in DNA and fingerprint analysis give me some hope, but it must be so incredibly frustrating to know that there might be just one tiny piece of evidence out there that could crack a case wide open. Honestly, my heart goes out to Darrian's family and all the others who are stuck in this limbo. Does anyone have thoughts on how we, as a community, might help support these efforts, or know ways to push for more aggressive funding to tackle these cold cases? Maybe there are local initiatives we can get involved with? Stay safe, everyone.
