It's really challenging to grasp the extent of violence in Detroit when you realize how many families have suffered without answers. Kenneth Larivee's case, like so many others, is another painful reminder of the number of lives affected by this ongoing crisis. The lack of witness cooperation is frustrating, but I get it—fear and mistrust are real obstacles. Still, I wish more people understood the difference their voices could make. I recently read that Detroit's Cold Case Unit is working hard with new forensic methods, which gives a bit of hope. It's crucial for us as a community to support these efforts and encourage neighbors to speak up if they know anything. Kenneth and others deserve justice, and his family deserves peace.
