Hi everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the fact that Karen Gibson was someone who seemed to embody what it means to put family first. It's such a tragedy that someone who dedicated her life to caring for her aging parents became a victim of violence in the city she called home. It seems like the very traits of compassion and duty she lived by now serve as a painful reminder of her absence to those who loved her. It's frustrating that, due to the high crime rate in Detroit during that time, so many cases like Karen's have fallen by the wayside. It breaks my heart for her family, who not only lost Karen but also have to deal with the uncertainty of an unresolved case. I'm holding onto hope that advancements in forensics might eventually shine a light on what happened, but until then, let's keep discussing and sharing anything we can to help.
