I recently came across the case of Carlos "Los" Buffin, and it struck me how often the invaluable cold case units are mentioned but still seem somewhat underappreciated. In cities like Detroit, where the scale of violent crime has been overwhelming, it truly gives hope to see dedicated teams working tirelessly to find new leads on such old cases. Los's family, especially his twin sister Clarissa, must feel some comfort knowing that there are people who haven't forgotten and remain committed to uncovering the truth. It’s incredibly important for community members to continue supporting these efforts, even attending city meetings or contributing to awareness campaigns, in hopes that one day we'll hear that justice has finally been served. Has anyone else seen the impact of these units in other areas or have insights on how communities can better support them? Any thoughts or ideas?

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about how the community plays a role in solving cases like Carlos Buffin's. It’s clear that many of Detroit's unsolved cases suffer from a lack of witness cooperation, which is frustrating for everyone involved. I’ve been wondering, what can be done to encourage more people to come forward with information? It must be tough for those in the community who are close to these cases, especially if they fear retaliation. I keep reading about how important anonymous tip lines are, but do they really make a difference? One thing that stands out is how Carlos's family, especially his twin sibling Clarissa, must be feeling with each passing year. It’s so important that they find some peace. I hope that increased community outreach and trust-building efforts will help encourage those who might know something to speak up and assist the Cold Case Unit before another decade passes without answers. Thoughts?
