Hey everyone, I've been following Marcus Walker's case for a while now, and something I'm curious about is the impact of technology and social media on cases like his. Back in 2013, when this tragedy occurred, Detroit's police were already stretched thin, making it difficult to thoroughly investigate every lead.
In a city dealing with so many unsolved cases, how much of a role do you think social media could play in helping bring new attention or tips to Marcus’s case? Do we have examples of similar cases where social media has proved vital in uncovering new information or even solving them? I really feel for Marcus’s family—I can't imagine going year after year without knowing what truly happened or seeing justice served.
Let’s hope that as technology continues to evolve, it can bring some answers and maybe even some peace to those who knew and loved Marcus.
Does anyone else feel really frustrated about how so many witness accounts from Marcus Walker's case have gone unheard or unacted upon? It’s so disheartening to think that people who might know something are keeping quiet or not being listened to. I can’t imagine the pain his family must be going through, knowing that potential leads are out there but just slipping through the cracks of an overwhelmed justice system. Detroit had a really hard time during those years with so many cases adding up. It's tough to blame anyone for not coming forward when you think about how dangerous it might be for them, but still, every small piece of information could make a difference. Hoping for a break in the case that might finally bring some answers and peace to his loved ones.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been digging into some of the unsolved cases from Detroit around 2013, and Marcus Walker's is one that really stands out to me. I was thinking about how the lack of leads and overworked law enforcement might have played a role in why his case (and so many others) didn't get the attention it needed at the time. The city was going through such a tough period and it's deeply upsetting to think about how stretched the police were back then.
Marcus was so young and full of potential, and it’s devastating to think that his family still hasn’t seen justice. I can't imagine the pain they’ve been going through all these years without answers. It's frustrating knowing that their suffering is part of a larger pattern of unresolved cases, making me wonder what more could be done to support these families and help close the gaps on these investigations. Has there been any recent push or community effort to re-evaluate these older cases? I hope there will be a break that brings some peace to his loved ones.
Anyone local who remembers more about the atmosphere back then or has been following the case? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Stay safe, everyone.
