Was anyone else moved by the recent press conference about the unsolved murder of Russhawn Davis? It's so devastating for his family, who have had to wait nearly a decade without answers. Detroit has been struggling with these unsolved cases for years, and it seems like they're up against so many obstacles—lack of resources, limited evidence, etc. But what got me thinking was the part about witness reluctance. I can't even imagine how frustrating that must be for the loved ones, knowing that someone out there might hold the key to solving this case. Community involvement could make such a difference. If anyone reading this has information, even if you think it's minor, please consider reaching out anonymously to Crime Stoppers. Maybe together, we can help bring some peace to Russhawn's family.

I’ve been following Russhawn’s case since it happened in 2014, and I can't imagine how painful it must be for his family and friends to still be waiting for answers almost a decade later. The fact that the Cold Case Unit is revisiting older cases using new forensic technologies is a bit of hope, but I wish more people would come forward to help close these cases.
The reluctance of witnesses to speak up is understandable given the fears of retribution, but maybe if more community members speak out, we could see some momentum? Detroit is in such need of healing, and each case that's solved is a step in that direction. Would love to hear thoughts on how we can foster a safer environment for witnesses to share what they know.
