It's so sad to hear about Eric Wynne's tragic passing back in 2015. I was reading about how Detroit was trying so hard to get its crime rates down at that time, and it's truly unfortunate that his life was cut short amidst all those efforts. It really shows how deeply ingrained the issue was, and still is, in some communities. I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak his family and friends must have felt, especially when city officials were noting some progress on crime reduction. It must've felt like a small piece of hope amidst a sea of grief. I hope we see a day when efforts to curb violence don't just result in statistics but translate into real safety and peace for the residents. Sending thoughts to everyone who knew and loved him.
