Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Francoise Haslip and how his murder took place during a time when Detroit was trying so hard to reduce crime rates. Even though the city was making progress, it's clear that families like Francoise's were still suffering deeply. It makes me wonder about the effectiveness of the strategies being used back then and whether there was more that could've been done to protect individuals like Francoise. It’s so painful to think about the loss his loved ones are enduring. I hope they managed to find some peace at his funeral at James H. Cole, but events like these remind us that statistics can't erase the real pain that families face. Maybe if we keep discussing these cases, it’ll help bring about more genuine changes in the long run. What do you think could be different? Let's honor Francoise by talking about ways to make our communities safer for everyone.
