Something that's been on my mind about Robert Allen Alexander’s disappearance is the state of his boat. From what I gathered, he was using a 7-foot "pond box" that had a history of mechanical issues. Even though Robert mentioned it had been repaired, it makes me wonder how reliable those repairs were given the era and the technology at the time. Was it possible that the repairs didn’t hold up against the rough waters that day? The boat's size and the possible unpredictability of a repaired motor might have left him vulnerable, especially if the weather turned unexpectedly. Have there been any cases where boats with similar issues were eventually recovered? It’s so puzzling that his boat was never found, which could have provided some insight into what might have happened. Thoughts?

I recently came across Robert Allen Alexander's case, and something that's sticking out to me is the reliability of that motor repair he mentioned. Does anyone know more about who did the repair or how credible it was? I feel like if the boat had already been prone to mechanical issues, that could have played a major role in what happened. Just wondering if anyone else has thought about this angle or if it’s been discussed before. I’m curious if maybe the repair wasn't as solid as Robert believed, especially given the weather conditions that day. If anyone's familiar with motor repairs from that time period or even knows someone from the area who remembers the talk around it, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Does anyone else find it intriguing that the small "pond box" boat Robert was using had just been repaired before he disappeared? I keep thinking about that detail. While it's not uncommon for people to get caught in rough weather when boating, I wonder if the repair itself was trustworthy. Did anyone know who fixed it, or if Robert mentioned any concerns post-repair? Sometimes we overlook small details because they seem resolved, but given the circumstances, it's hard not to speculate if there were residual issues. The boat was never found either, which adds another layer of mystery. Anyone local to Brigantine have more info on who might have done boat repairs back in the day?
