Hey everyone,
I know it's been quite a while since Lillie Maxey went missing, but I've been diving into some old cases lately and hers caught my attention. I was reading up on her disappearance from Maggie’s Nursing Center, and it just makes me wonder: how secure was that place back then? I mean, we're talking 1983 here—might not have been the best systems or protocols in place like we have now.
Does anyone here have any insight into how nursing homes or similar facilities in Texas handled security during that time? Were there standard practices for preventing residents from just walking off like what seems to have happened with Lillie? Maybe someone worked in a similar setting back then or has family stories about how things used to be.
Her being able to leave undetected has always puzzled me. Also, if anyone has any updates or even thoughts on what direction this case might take if newer tech or methods were applied now, I’m all ears. Just seems like such a tragedy that someone could just vanish without a trace.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Hey everyone,
I've been reading about the Lillie Maxey case, and something that's been bothering me is the timeline on the day she disappeared. It's mentioned she was last seen at Maggie's Nursing Center, but there's no detailed info on who saw her last or what time of day that was. Was it during a meal, or did a staff member last see her during routine rounds? If she had a habit of wandering, it seems like knowing the exact time she was last accounted for could give a better idea of when she slipped away. Plus, was there any review of nursing center protocols afterward? I feel like those small details could help paint a clearer picture of her final movements and where she might have wandered off to. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!
I've been reading about Lillie Maxey's disappearance, and something that keeps crossing my mind is the security at Maggie's Nursing Center. In 1983, I imagine protocols for monitoring residents with dementia weren't as robust as today, but does anyone know if there were any specific security measures in place back then? Given her history of wandering, it seems crucial to understand what precautions were supposed to be in place. If anyone has insights into the state of nursing home security during that time, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Was it common practice for facilities to have security cameras, locked exits, or alarm systems for at-risk residents, or did those come into play later?
