I've been following a lot of cases in Detroit, and the unsolved murder of Deon Harris keeps weighing on my mind. It's so disheartening to think about the amount of potential evidence and insight that's bound to be locked away with the silent witnesses. Community participation is essential, yet so challenging to achieve. It's tough when fear and mistrust overshadow justice. The determination of the Cold Case Unit is compelling, though. It’s clear they are trying hard despite the obstacles. I hold onto the hope that with the advancement in forensic tech and the help of initiatives like Crime Stoppers, there might still be a path to justice for Deon and others like him. Families need answers, and Deon's is no exception. Would love to hear if anyone has any inklings on how communities might support these efforts more effectively.
