Has anyone else been following the case of Robert Oakes? It's incredibly tough to hear about yet another family going through the pain of an unsolved murder. I've been reading about how Detroit was under a lot of stress back in 2017 with so much happening and not enough resources to tackle everything. It's particularly infuriating that so many cases like Robert's seem to just fall through the cracks. From what I understand, there's been a lot of pressure on the Detroit Police Department to improve how they handle these cases, but I wonder if things have really changed since then. For families seeking answers, it must feel like an endless waiting game. I just hope that anyone who has information will come forward and help bring some closure to Robert's loved ones. It feels like a cycle that's so hard to break, but there has to be hope for justice somewhere down the line.

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the case of Robert Oakes, who was tragically killed in Detroit back in July 2017, and I can't help but think about the impact of unsolved cases on the loved ones left behind. It's incredibly frustrating to see families remain in the dark, searching for answers and hoping for justice that may never come. From what I understand, Detroit was going through a particularly rough time then with high crime rates and a stretched law enforcement system. This makes me wonder, how many cases like Robert's might have slipped through the cracks because resources were just too limited? I know there have been efforts toward reform and improving forensic capabilities, but it feels like the work is just never-ending. Sending my thoughts to Robert’s family and others in similar situations. I really hope there are brighter days ahead where these families get the resolution they deserve. What are everyone else’s thoughts on how we can push for change and make sure no one else has to live in uncertainty?

I recently came across the case of Robert Oakes while looking into the unsolved homicides in Detroit, and it really struck a chord with me. Robert was only 39 when he was killed, and like so many others, his case seems to have fallen through the cracks. It's just incredibly sad to think about his family, left with questions and no closure after so many years. I was reading about the difficulties the Detroit Police Department is facing—understaffing and the sheer volume of violent crime can't be easy to handle. It's like a perfect storm where justice for families like Robert's gets delayed indefinitely. I hope the advancements in forensic techniques and the push for reform can eventually help solve these cold cases. Does anyone know if there have been any updates or renewed efforts in his case? Keeping Robert's memory alive is so important, not just for his family, but for the city as a whole.
