Does anyone know if the Illinois Cleaners is still around or what’s become of it? I can’t imagine the pain and loss felt by Samuel Nersesian's family and the community after such a sudden and violent act. He was just a young man, 23, trying to make a living and support his future. This tragic event must have left a lasting mark on East St. Louis. I’ve always believed that places can carry the memories and stories of the things that happened there. It would be interesting to know if the business ever reopened, if it's owned by someone else, or if the building has been repurposed. It’s so important for us to remember and honor the victims by keeping their stories alive. My thoughts are with Samuel’s loved ones and everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.

Reading about the tragic events that took away Samuel Nersesian's life is deeply unsettling. Something that stands out to me is the randomness and brutality of the attack. From what I've gathered, it seems like Samuel was simply going about his daily routine, managing his business, when his life was abruptly taken by people with no regard for human life. My heart goes out to Samuel's family and friends; I can only imagine the pain and anger they must have felt during trials and appeals. And it must feel so unjust that even after such a definitive conviction, they had to keep reliving the events through each appeal. Justice, no matter how it plays out, never quite conveys the finality that the loss of a loved one does. To those left behind, I hope there was some form of peace found in the legal outcome, even if it can never bring Samuel back.
